AREAAA is a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation creating international learning experiences for young people and youth workers.
AREAAA a.s.b.l. is an organisation based in Luxembourg working in international youth work, non-formal education and creative learning.
We organise and take part in projects that bring together young people, youth workers, trainers and organisations from different countries. Through Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, Training Courses and other collaborative activities, participants have the opportunity to meet new people, discover different perspectives and learn through practical experience.
Our projects are not built around traditional classroom teaching. They are interactive and participatory. Workshops, group activities, reflection, creative exercises and informal moments all form part of the learning process. Participants are encouraged to contribute their own experiences and ideas and to shape the project together.
The topics and methods change from one project to another. We may work with photography and visual storytelling, sport and traditional games, music, media, creative expression or other tools that make learning active and accessible.
For us, these methods are not an end in themselves. They create opportunities for communication, teamwork, inclusion, confidence and personal development. A camera, a game or a musical instrument can become a starting point for people to interact in ways that would not happen in a conventional learning setting.
At the same time, international projects create a unique environment in which participants live and learn together for several days. This makes cultural exchange something that happens naturally throughout the whole experience, not only during a scheduled activity.
AREAAA was founded in Luxembourg and works with partner organisations across Europe. We value long-term cooperation and the exchange of ideas between organisations with different backgrounds and areas of experience.
Projects give us a framework to create something together, but their impact should continue afterwards. Participants can take methods, ideas, contacts and experiences back into their own organisations and communities, while partnerships developed through one activity often lead to future collaboration.
We want AREAAA to remain open, practical and human:an organisation where new ideas can develop, people can take responsibility and international cooperation can lead to real shared experiences.
